Colleagues and camaraderie

I have met so many wonderful OD practitioners since I’ve started my journey in this field two years ago. Whenever I lament that I didn’t go to business school I forget the reasons why Social-Organizational Psychology had such a deep pull for me: the culture of community. Whereas the MBA’s lean more towards competition, we applied psychologists are interested in contributing to the field and sharing information.
I think this comes to mind as many of my friends at Columbia are taking their comprehensive examination as I type. It’s that ‘we are all in it together’ attitude I’ve seen that touches me so, and I hope everyone comes out in one piece this afternoon.
I have gotten so much support myself from my colleagues and classmates, who have quickly become friends. For this I am extremely grateful.
